At UW-Madison, a group of students and staff are working to reduce the amount of food wasted. They’re using a tool that a graduate of the university helped develop.

The Wisconsin Union launched a partnership with University of Wisconsin-Madison co-founded Goodie Bag app in early April to increase food affordability by offering a 67% discount for unsold food from Union locations.

The Wisconsin Union team is bundling unsold food, such as sandwiches and baked goods from the Badger Markets in Union South and Memorial Union, and offering the food at a 67% discount through Goodie Bag.
