Social Media & Design Lead

Before you read any further, read this part carefully. If this resonates, really resonates, keep going.

No job is perfect. We know that. But imperfection is often what makes the work matter. It is what makes it worth showing up for, pushing through, and caring deeply about.

At Goodie Bag, we are not just building a company that changes how people support local food businesses.. We are building the kind of company we wish more people got to work for. Unapologetically anti-corporate. Authentic. Transparent. Dare we say Open communication. Laughter welcome. Respect assumed, not earned through hierarchy.

Some days will test you in ways you didn't see coming. The goals are audacious and we only hit them by trusting each other and working autonomously. This is not a 9 to 5. But here is the thing. The people who thrive here do not want it to be. They are wired for this. They get energy from the build. They are the ones who text the group chat on a Sunday because they just had a great idea and cannot wait to try it.

We are a small team taking on a real problem, competing with players 150x our size, and honestly having a blast doing it. You have to want to be at the ground level. The pace is real, the expectations are real, and so is the reward as we grow together.

You will work alongside founders who are genuinely stoked about what we are building every single day. Our CEO uses the word "stoked" more than "normal" and our COO runs long distances more than "normal." Not normal is magic.

If you are energized by ownership, creativity, and the opportunity to put your fingerprints on something real, this might be exactly the right place for you.

The Role

This role owns how Goodie Bag shows up in the world. That is a big deal and we mean it.

You will lead and evolve our brand across social media, digital channels, influencer partnerships, and physical touchpoints. This is hands-on creative leadership for someone who can think with a strategy brain and execute with a creator's instincts. You are not just managing accounts. You are building a brand people actually love and talk about and share with their friends at 11pm because they cannot believe what a good deal they just got.

You will be out in New York City with our founders and partners, filming real moments, telling real stories, and making Goodie Bag the most exciting brand in the local food space. You will design assets that stop people mid-scroll. You will build influencer relationships that feel like genuine collabs, not just transactions.

And over time, this role is built to grow into C-level creative leadership for the right person. We are not just offering a job. We are offering a seat at the table while the table is still being built.

This Is a Hands On Role. And That Is the Best Part.

This role will be heavy on the video editing and posting. And it will also require boots on the ground content creation. You will be out in New York City every week doing the most fun version of this job possible. Walking into partner shops and capturing the story behind the food. Sitting down with restaurant owners who have poured their lives into their business and getting that on film. Capturing the content for the creative series you think of.

The Goodie Bag aesthetic is raw, real, and street-level. That energy does not come from a studio. It comes from someone who is genuinely out there, loves this city, and has the instincts to know when to hit record.

You need to be:

  • Comfortable and confident on camera, not just behind it

  • Fired up about street-style content across New York City

  • Energized by creating unique social media series

  • Ready to interview partners, customers, and founders

  • Someone who pushes the creative boundaries of what content can look and feel like

If "go film a partner spotlight in the West Village at 8am" sounds like a great morning to you, keep reading.

What You'll Own

Social Media Presence

  • Build and execute a 14-day rolling content calendar across Instagram and TikTok. Keep the brand alive and active every single day. Daily stories, weekly reels, real community engagement. This is your stage.

Content Creation

  • Ideate, shoot, edit, and post original short-form content that makes people stop scrolling. Partner spotlights, founder moments, mystery bag unboxings, memes, UGC collabs, street-style NYC content. If it is cool and on brand, you make it happen.

Influencer Pipeline

  • Find the right creators, build real relationships, and close collabs that actually move the needle. You know how to make this feel like a partnership, not a transaction.

Graphic Design and Visual Assets

  • Design assets that make people do a double take. Social graphics, website visuals, app assets, email headers, billboards, coupon cards, pitch decks, merch, stickers, partner materials. The brand lives everywhere and you are the one who makes it look incredible everywhere.

Brand Partnerships

  • Spot the right aligned brands, creators, and organizations and make things happen. Lead influencer relationships. Coordinate podcast collabs and broader awareness campaigns that expand our reach in ways that feel organic and exciting.

Community Management

  • Be the human on the other side of the screen. Respond to comments and DMs. Repost customer love. Make every person who interacts with our brand feel like they are part of something.

Team Building

  • Own and grow this function over time. Manage contractors. Build out the creative team as we scale. This starts as a one-person operation and grows into something much bigger with you leading it.

What You Need to Have

Things you need to be genuinely great at:

  • Short-form video. Ideating, scripting, shooting, editing. Reels and TikTok especially. You have done this before and you have the content to prove it.

  • On-camera presence. You are comfortable and natural in front of the lens, doing street-style content, conducting interviews, and capturing real unscripted moments.

  • Graphic design across digital and physical formats. You have an eye and you know how to use it.

  • AI-native content creation. You know the leading AI tools for content creation and image generation and you are genuinely excited about them. You use Midjourney, RunwayML, CapCut AI, and whatever else is cutting edge right now to move faster and smarter in post-production. You are not waiting to be taught these tools. You are already in them.

  • Building influencer pipelines at scale across multiple markets, with the relationship skills to match.

  • Speed and consistency across multiple platforms and markets at the same time without dropping the ball.

Bonus if you also bring

  • Figma and UI/UX collaboration with engineers.

  • Website design and management. Wix experience is a plus.

  • Paid social experience across Meta, TikTok, Apple, Google, or Reddit.

  • SEO basics.

Who You Are

You have built or grown a brand account before, not just managed one. You can point to content you made that actually performed and you light up when you talk about it.

You think in series and recurring formats, not just one-off posts. You see a piece of content and immediately think about how to turn it into five.

You are trend-fluent. You know what is popping on TikTok this week and you can make it ours without it feeling like we are chasing something.

You get the difference between "edgy and fun" and "a corporate brand trying to be edgy and fun." We are the first one and you would never let us become the second one.

You are motivated by ownership, mission, and the very specific thrill of building something from nothing. You see the early stage not as uncertainty but as opportunity. And you are the kind of person who makes everyone around them more excited just by being in the room.

Who This Is Not For

We would rather be honest here than waste anyone's time.

This is probably not the right fit if you:

  • Prefer to oversee content from a distance rather than create it yourself.

  • Are at a stage in your career where execution feels beneath your pay grade.

  • Are not based in or genuinely excited to be working out in New York City.

  • Do your best work inside a structured playbook with a narrow, clearly defined scope.

  • Are looking for clear separation between work hours and impact.

  • Would rather be handed a creative direction than set one.

None of that makes you wrong. It just makes this the wrong role. We want someone who reads the list above and feels relieved it does not describe them.

Compensation, Contract, and Equity

This role starts as a paid contract-to-hire. The contract is one month, paid at a rate on par with the full-time base salary of $80,000 per year. It is a real, paid engagement from day one, not a trial where you work for free while we figure things out.

At the end of the contract period, the expectation is a full-time offer for the right person. We want to make sure it is a great fit on both sides before we make that commitment and we think one month of actually working together is the most honest way to do that.

The full-time offer includes

  • Base salary: $80,000/year

  • Health Insurance

  • Meaningful equity grant

  • A clear and genuine path to executive leadership as the company scales.

What Success Looks Like

First Week

  • You are not easing in. You hit the ground running and it feels great.

  • By the end of week one you have a content strategy and a rolling calendar built and already in motion.

  • Instagram is active every single day.

  • Organic content is going up at least 4 days that week. You are filming, editing, and delivering a minimum of 5 short-form reels ready for organic and paid use. And you have at least one brand partnership or influencer collab confirmed and on the calendar.

For the right person, that is not a pressure cooker. That is just a really fun first week.

First Month

The rhythm is locked in, the content is getting sharper, and you are already starting to see what resonates. Daily Instagram activity is the standard, not the stretch goal. You have a full 30-day calendar mapped out with recurring formats taking shape. Partner spotlights, founder content, street-style NYC moments, unboxings, memes that actually land. The reels cadence is humming at 5 or more per week. Multiple influencer collabs are either live or deep in the pipeline. Brand partnerships are being actively pursued and the first results are starting to show. The creative direction feels cohesive, exciting, and unmistakably Goodie Bag.

First Three Months

The brand has a real presence and people are starting to feel it. Engagement is climbing. Follower growth is trending in the right direction. You have built a strong library of content across formats and you know exactly which ones perform best for us and why. The influencer pipeline is running consistently with 5 to 8 aligned creators actively engaged across our markets. Graphic design output is dialed in across digital and physical touchpoints. Whether someone finds us on TikTok, Instagram, a coupon card at a partner shop, or a wall somewhere in NYC, the brand looks and feels like the same exciting thing. You are also starting to flag where we need more firepower and bringing smart recommendations to the team.

First Year

You are not just running social. You are leading the brand function and building something that will outlast any single piece of content. Goodie Bag has a distinct, recognizable presence in and out of the app across multiple cities. Brand partnerships are a meaningful driver of awareness and growth. You have built smart systems and assembled a small but effective team around you. That looks like managing interns across social and marketing, bringing in fractional creative hires for specific markets or campaigns, running AI-powered workflows that let us produce more great content without burning out, and laying the foundation for future full-time hires as we scale nationally. You are operating at a leadership level with full ownership over brand strategy and execution. The path to a C-level role is not a vague promise at this point. It is the obvious and exciting next step.
