New York City Sales & Partnerships Lead

Before you read any further, read this carefully.

If this resonates with you, really resonates, then keep going.

No job is perfect. Most of us know that going in. But we also believe something important. Imperfection is often what makes work meaningful. It is what makes it worth showing up for, pushing through, and caring deeply about.

At Goodie Bag, we are not just building a company that changes how people support local food businesses and access affordable food. We are building the kind of company we wish more people got to work for.

A place where communication is open.
Where laughter is welcome.
Where respect is assumed, not earned through hierarchy.

A place where the work is hard, sometimes uncomfortably so, and where certain days will test you in ways you did not anticipate. A place where we aim for audacious goals, knowing they are only achievable if we work together and trust each other to work autonomously.

This is not a 9 to 5 role. If that is what you are looking for, this job is not for you. Building something with real, far-reaching impact does not fit neatly into office hours.

We are a small team taking on an initiative against competitors 150x our size. You have to want to be at the ground level. You have to understand that the work is real, the pace is real, and the expectations are real, but so is the reward when we reach the summit.

You will work alongside founders who care deeply about what they are building. You will work with a development team that built our app from scratch, people we are genuinely proud to call teammates. Our CEO may use the word stoked more than “normal” and our COO might run long distances more than “normal” too. But not normal is magic.

If you are energized by ownership, creativity, trust, and responsibility, this might be the place for you.

If you see yourself in this, if this feels like a place you would want to help shape rather than simply work within, read on.

The Role

This role is responsible for onboarding new partners in NYC. These partners include local food shops like restaurants, bakeries, cafes, grocers, and other physical stores with food products. You will be critical to the launch of NYC and its continued growth through partner acquisition and retention.

This means door-to-door sales, relationship building, and becoming a trusted presence in the local food scene.

This is a highly autonomous, field-based role for someone who understands New York, knows how restaurants actually operate, and is energized by hustle, ownership, and results.

You will work directly with our CEO and Head of Partnerships to turn NYC into Goodie Bag’s largest market.

Core Responsibilities

NYC Market Launch & Growth

  • Secure partnerships with local food businesses for our NYC launch

  • Be entirely responsible for substantial territory in NYC

  • Become our team lead for NYC partnerships

Sales Execution

  • Conduct door-to-door sales with restaurants, cafes, bakeries, and food shops

  • Own cold outreach, in-person pitching, and platform onboarding

  • Clearly communicate Goodie Bag’s value to decision makers

  • Consistently close new partners and drive market momentum

Partnership Building

  • Build trusted relationships with restaurant and cafe owners

  • Leverage local knowledge and networks to accelerate adoption

  • Identify opportunities to deepen partnerships beyond door-to-door sales

Operational Collaboration

  • Work closely with the CEO and Head of Partnerships

  • Provide real-time feedback from the field to improve sales strategy and tooling

  • Use HubSpot to manage pipeline, track outreach, and report progress

Market Stewardship

  • Maintain long-term health of the NYC market

  • Ensure partners remain engaged, satisfied, and active

  • Help establish Goodie Bag as an integral part of the NYC local food ecosystem

Experience

Required

  • Proven success in a previous sales role, with clear top-performer results

  • Experience with cold sales or door-to-door sales models

  • Comfort pitching in person and handling rejection

  • Experience using HubSpot or similar CRM tools

Must Haves

  • Currently based in New York City or willing to relocate

  • Willing and excited to spend significant time in the field

  • Strong work ethic and self-direction

Bonus

  • Experience working in hospitality

  • Existing network of restaurant or cafe owners in NYC specifically

  • Previous experience selling to restaurants or food and beverage businesses

  • Deep familiarity with the NYC local food scene

Mindset & Fit

  • Comfortable being the first and only sales presence in a major market

  • Energized by ownership, accountability, and results

  • Resilient, persistent, and confident

  • Relationship-driven, not transactional

  • Motivated by building something meaningful and lasting

*Bonus points if you have worked at a startup and do not shy away from the ebbs and flows, but find joy and fulfillment in the challenges.

**More bonus points if an LLM does not write your cover letter. We want to hear from YOU.

Compensation & Growth

  • Base salary: $80,000/year, $120k+ OTE

  • Commission: Clear, performance-based commission structure

  • Equity: Equity participation available, based on experience, impact, and long-term contribution

  • Significant opportunity to grow in responsibility and leadership as Goodie Bag scales

Who This Role Is Not For

This role is likely not a fit if:

  • You require inbound leads over proactive, in-person sales

  • You are uncomfortable with door-to-door outreach

  • You want a highly structured sales playbook handed to you

  • You are not excited about being deeply embedded in a local market

  • You are looking for a remote or desk-based sales role
