The Role

 

This role exists to launch cities.

As a Market Launch Sales Lead, you will be responsible for taking Goodie Bag city by city across the United States, starting with New York City. You will parachute into new markets, build early momentum through door-to-door sales, establish a strong initial partner base, and help set each city up for long-term success before moving on to the next market.

This is a highly mobile, high-energy role designed for someone who thrives on travel, autonomy, and building from zero. You will spend significant time on the road and should expect to be deeply embedded in new cities for extended periods.

Travel Expectations

  • Willingness to travel more than half of the year

  • Ability to spend up to one month at a time in a single city during the first year

  • Flexibility to move city to city based on launch priorities

  • Must be comfortable with sustained, frequent travel

This role is not compatible with limited travel availability.

Core Responsibilities

 

New Market Launch

  • Lead on-the-ground launches in new U.S. cities

  • Establish early partner traction through in-person sales

  • Act as the first Goodie Bag presence in new markets

  • Lay the foundation for long-term market success

 

Sales Execution

  • Conduct door-to-door sales with restaurants, cafes, bakeries, and food shops

  • Own cold outreach and in-person pitching in unfamiliar markets

  • Clearly communicate Goodie Bag’s value to operators

  • Consistently close high-quality partners

 

Partnership Building

  • Build trust quickly with local operators

  • Identify neighborhood-level opportunities in each city

  • Create early advocates within each market

 

Operational Collaboration

  • Work closely with the CEO and Head of Partnerships

  • Use HubSpot to manage pipeline and track outreach

  • Provide market-specific insights to improve sales playbooks

 

Market Handoff

  • Support smooth transition to local ownership when applicable

  • Document learnings and best practices from each market

  • Help refine launch strategy as the company scales

 

Experience

 

Required

  • Proven success as a top performer in a previous sales role

  • Experience with cold sales or door-to-door sales models

  • Comfort selling in new environments with minimal context

  • Experience using HubSpot or similar CRM tools

 

Must Haves

  • Willingness to travel extensively and for long durations

  • Comfort living out of a suitcase for extended periods

  • Strong self-management and discipline

  • Ability to build rapport quickly in new cities

 

Bonus

  • Experience working in hospitality

  • Previous experience selling to restaurants or food and beverage businesses

  • Experience launching new markets or territories

  • Strong intuition for local food scenes and operator dynamics

Compensation & Growth

  • Base salary: $80,000/year, $120k+ OTE

  • Commission: Clear, performance-based commission structure

  • Equity: Equity participation available, based on experience and impact
